Choro

Choro, better known as “chorinho”, is a genre of Brazilian popular and instrumental music famous for being the first urban popular music typical of Brazil. Choro was born in Rio de Janeiro in the mid-19th century and is still played by traditional groups, such as Rodas de Choro and regional ones, as well as by musicians from other origins.
